The game
Circuit is a trip-long 2-on-2 match play that re-draws your partner every round off the standings: rank the field, pair first with last and second with third. Whoever is hot gets split up, and the leader gets saddled with the last-place player. It's self-balancing — it never collapses into a two-man race, and a slow first day doesn't bury you by the third.
How to play
- 1Played across the trip as a series of 2-on-2 match-play rounds.
- 2Round 1 teams are drawn at random.
- 3Every round after, teams re-draw off the current standings: rank the field, pair 1st with 4th and 2nd with 3rd.
- 4With more than four players, the ranked field splits into foursomes ("flights") and the same draw runs in each.
- 5Win your match to bank points toward the standings; a halved match forces a fresh random re-draw the next round.
- 6Standings after the final round decide the pot.
Variations
- Flights — at any multiple of four, the field chunks into foursomes so everyone plays a live 2-on-2 every round.
- Places-paid pot — pay out past just first, split across the top finishers.
